Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
By installing or using WebVoice, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the extension or related pages.
1. The service
WebVoice is a Chrome extension that can extract and clean page text, read selected or extracted content using local browser voices, translate content when a provider is configured, and open EPUB, TXT, HTML, or Markdown files in a temporary local book reader. Some cloud TTS and cloud audio export features are available only to an active Pro subscription or lifetime license.
2. Your content and third-party providers
You keep your rights to text, files, and other content that you choose to process. You are responsible for having the right to access, translate, read, download, or otherwise use that content. If you enable a third-party TTS or translation provider, you are also responsible for complying with that provider's terms and privacy policy. Provider fees, limits, availability, retention, and output quality are outside WebVoice's control.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use WebVoice to violate applicable law or another person's rights, abuse a provider, bypass a technical restriction, distribute malware, or interfere with the extension or its license service. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the extension or its proprietary assets except as permitted by applicable law.
4. Plans, payment, and device activation
- Pro Monthly is currently listed at $2.90 per month. A 7-day trial is available only when the Stripe checkout page explicitly displays a trial.
- Lifetime is currently listed at $39.90 as a one-time purchase. Prices and plan details are shown at Stripe checkout and may change for future purchases.
- Stripe hosts checkout and payment processing. WebVoice does not receive or store your card number.
- Monthly subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the next renewal. Cancellation normally leaves access active until the current billing period ends.
- One purchase can be activated on up to five devices. Device activation is checked by the license service and is subject to the limits shown in the extension.
- Refund eligibility is described in the Refund Policy.
5. License verification
To verify a purchase, the extension sends the checkout email, a device identifier, and the extension version to the WebVoice license service. The service checks the purchase with Stripe and returns a limited license status. A network outage, incorrect email, cancelled subscription, or device limit may prevent Pro activation. Free local reading remains available where the extension and browser support it.
6. Intellectual property
WebVoice, its original code, branding, documentation, and website assets are owned by their respective rights holders. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the published extension for its intended purpose.
7. Availability and disclaimer
The extension is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that every page, browser voice, provider, file, translation, or audio format will work, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Browser restrictions, content changes, provider outages, and local system settings can affect results.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WebVoice and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from use of the extension, third-party providers, or inability to use the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend license verification or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, fraud, a security issue, or a material breach of these terms. You may stop using the extension at any time. Ending use does not remove obligations that by their nature should continue.
10. Changes
We may update these terms as the service changes. We will update the date above and, when appropriate, provide notice in the extension or on this website. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are interpreted under the laws that apply to the service operator, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply.
